What is the Dragonscale SOC Lab?

Dragonscale is my cloud-based Security Operations Center (SOC) lab. It’s designed to be an affordable, practical, and educational environment to practice cybersecurity skills. The whole idea of Dragonscale is to learn by doing and by breaking things!

Why build a home SOC lab?

The main reason behind building Dragonscale is to gain hands-on experience designing, deploying, attacking, and securing cloud environments. Most employers in the cybersecurity sector require some type of practical experience (show, don’t tell) to be competitive. Dragonscale is my attempt at gaining that experience and showing employers my skills.

What it demonstrates

This project will demonstrate skills such as:

• Deploying and operating SOC tools
• Incident response lifecycle
• Active Directory proficiency
• Detection rule creation
• Penetration testing methodology
